Super excited. Super enthusiastic. Super energetic.
With lots of hope and lots of goals in mind. Started a new phase of my life in this beautiful city of silicon valley which fulfills the dreams of thousands of people coming to make there living from every corner of our country India.
Managed to rent a beautiful house surrounded with absolute stunning greenery, which helps me wake up to the most soothing sound, birds chirping through my rooms window.
Start of the day was so much more spot on, as everything was working as expected for me.
Amidst all these happy stuffs happening with me.
There was always one thing that would haunt me was the feeling of having my office located exactly 25 kms away from my home! Yes, you heard that right.
If you know Bangalore traffic, then you very well would know the nightmare of commuting 25kms one side and that would be 50kms every single day!
Well, that’s true. That’s what I am currently doing now. Phew!
You can very well imagine if your daily commute to office would take 2+ hours on one side. Then can you even imagine your state of mind if you were to commute all by yourself without any company? Or even before that, if you were a middle class family person. Then would it not be a very hefty baggage on your monthly expenses to pay the petrol cost?
Grown up in a middle class family. All these things would really matter to me and there I was talking about this traffic chaos with a friend of mine [He is Pavan] who instantly came up with a suggestion of using an app called “Quick Ride”.
On a first note, I was of the impression that, this might be just another app and it wouldn’t be of any use, as there might not be that many users in it and hence would not be of any help.
But on a second note, felt like should give it a shot once and try it out.
To my surprise.
When I first created a Ride to share from my house to my office location. It was really surprising to see that there 50+ other commuters waiting to join my ride to office from the place where I resided.
First day of my ride I still remember, the moment I created the ride offer on the app. In less than half an hour, my ride was full of other riders joining me and I had to lock the ride to not getting any additional ride requests.
During this period of offering rides and sharing the space to commute in my car. It eventually turned out, to be a win-win situation for me as well as my fellow riders.
To me it was awesome to get along and know many new friends who joined as a fellow riders, and the ride points which they shared through the app for the ride would be of good help to me to cut down my petrol expenses every month.
To my fellow riders, they would get to join a hassle free ride from their location to their office without having to worry of missing a bus, waiting for an auto, booking a cab and all of that stuff.
Trust me on this, this app made it so easy and simple.
Throughout my experience with this app till now [Its been almost 4 months for now], all thanks to the great ethics built through the app. You will never come across a situation where you will have to speak about money and doing any sort of transaction for paying or excepting the commute fee. Each and every hassle of it, app will take care of it.
Having said all of this, I was totally clueless of an app that would make life of people much better and hassle free!
All thanks to Pavan for introducing me to Quick Ride. And great job done by Quick Ride for introducing and managing this concept of shared commute to office work so smoothly and hassle free!
To keep us motivated enough to share more rides. This app will also show us some statistics called as “Ecometer” and my Ecometer stats believe it or not when I saw it at first, I couldn’t believe it myself that I did do much of this in a span of 4 months.
[This is not at all a sponsored post or as such! Totally out of my experience. Happy to share the goodness about this app]
And to all the fellow riders I have got till date. They all have been truly amazing. Every other person was from different culture, different community and different lifestyle. But all got together to get rid of traffic chaos and be at peace.
I am also thinking to share some of the wonderful experiences I have got through Quick Ride in my future posts to come. Please do let me know in the comments below, if you would like to know about them. Do like and share this post if you like it.
Happy Reading! ๐
Ride share is s good thing, especially in Bangalore, where public transport is pathetic.
It also saves our environment!!

This has been an amazing read and so very relatable. What makes this post special to me is the fact that I am one of the 108 friends who got to share a ride with you! I can vouch for the fact that the otherwise 100+ minutes of painful Bangalore traffic from Koramangala to Whitefield were made fun thanks to this guy and his camaraderie with other Quick Riders!!! I still owe you a great deal of gratitude for letting me in your car despite being totally drenched. I now carry an umbrella every day since that day ๐ Looking forward to our next Quick Ride rendezvous. Take care.

Woww.. this comment made my day ๐ฅฐ getting a comment from the one who has played his role in making this traffic chaos go unnoticed.. Thanks for making a long commute cut short it’s length through the conversations we had whenever you joined along bud ๐ mind you I still can’t forget the struggle I went through to dry my car the day when you boarded being completely drenched ๐ but the fact that you have now made it a point to carry an umbrella to save your ride giver from that drying hassle.. Thanks a lot for that bro ๐๐ Looking forward for next Quick Ride rendezvous too.. Take care ๐

Nothing wrong with plugging (spreading the word) about a good and helpful service.
I used to be in a similar situation, and I used to arrive at work an hour early just to avoid the commute. The “Personal Time” off was really impacting…not to mention the petrol cost. I figured 15 hours a week was spent in my car getting to work; the equivalent of 2 full work days…that’s a lot of personal time spent…stressing in traffic.
Sounds like a great service, and you found the perfect balance and solution. It’s great information!!!

All thanks to QuickRide for being the reason for us to meet. You are right, the freshness of meeting new exciting people is in itself a reward.
I’m now at Domlur, so we might meet a lot less often!
Keep it simple..

Traveling 25kms one way in Bangalore is no fun. Especially with the traffic and metro work and what not! But apart from the traffic woes, Bangalore is a good place. ๐ Nice to know you are now a Bangalorean. ๐

Getting stuck in traffic depends on how good our luck is. ๐ Bangalore is cosmopolitan, that’s why it’s good. As long as swalpa Kannada gottide, anybody can survive here. ๐ Okay, I should stop promoting my city of residence now. ๐

Haha that’s so true.. luck matters a lot in this traffic in bangalore.. And if at all for a moment you feel that roads are so better and empty.. the very next moment you will get jinxed.. And get stuck again๐ correct me if I am wrong in this.. ๐ and swalpa kannada gottide.. Is again damn true.. and no harm in promoting a city a like this.. right ๐ so thats fine.. Guess we should be doing this often whenever gotten a chance to do so.. ๐

Haha exactly.. ๐ once it soo happenened that one of my friend who started commuting with me in quick ride during one of the initial days of our ride I was driving.. and though everyone knew roads were better that day, no one was uttering a word about it coz of getting jinxed and this girl all of sudden said that there “no traffic at all today”.. I still remember I literally gave a monstrous stare at her.. And she literally got scared for a split second and the very next moment everyone of us in the car started laughing at it.. ๐๐ after that till date she has never made a comment on that instead we more often remember that and laugh at it.. ๐ ok.. I know this comment has got a lot more lengthy.. thanks for reading this till this end.. It was really great to get someone from the blogger community and also same city and who could resonate so much .. It was really pleasure talking to you Rekha.. โค๐
